Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam (PA) held its Q1 townhall for 2024 at the Prime Minister’s Office which gathered 108 PA employees on 7th March 2024.
The townhall welcomed PA’s new Managing Director, Yang Mulia Shamir Salahudin, who emphasizes on PA’s vision in further strengthening its roles as Prudent Regulatory (supervision & monitoring of all oil and gas operations), Technical Excellence (technical advisor to the Government of His Majesty on matters pertaining to oil and gas) and Maximize Value (ensure Brunei Darussalam’s hydrocarbon resources and value chain is maximised in its impact to the country) and strategies to deliver key upstream and downstream projects and opportunities, employee development and welfare.
Since its establishment back in 2019, PA has been responsible to undertake regulatory monitoring and supervision of the upstream, midstream and downstream operation of the oil and gas sector in line with its vision to create a progressive and resilient oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam.
In summation, PA has existing frameworks & project developments, and has the potential for further development to strengthen our footing in Brunei as a regulator for the oil and gas industry.
