A First Aid Awareness Talk was organized for all Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam’s (PA) staff on Saturday 19 August 2023. The talk was delivered by Yang Mulia Aqilahyatul Wajihah Binti Mohd Sabaney from Megamas Training Company at the Theatre Hall, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) building.
The aim of the talk was to emphasize the importance of having first aider in a workplace in the event of an emergency situation arises. Among the topics covered in the talk include essentials of first aid, how to properly use a first aid box and identifying breathing problems or traumatic injuries. PA staff were also shown on how to handle casualty, as well as a demonstration on how to do CPR.
PA also has fulfilled the requirements of first aiders to number of employee ratio under the First Aider Appointment, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) (First-Aid) Regulations 2021. Under the said Regulations, employers are to provide and maintain first aid boxes, as well as the appointment and training of first aiders. By fostering a culture of preparedness, PA reaffirms its commitment to not only the health and safety of its employees but also to creating a secure and responsive environment for all.
