The Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam (PA) recently participated as an exhibitor at the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) 2025 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from February 18 to 20, 2025. This event provided a valuable opportunity for PA to connect with industry leaders and promote the Brunei Offshore Licensing Round 2025. Demonstrating their excellence in engagement and presentation, PA was awarded first runner-up for IPTC 2025 Best Exhibit Booth.
As the regulatory body for Brunei’s oil and gas industry, PA’s mission is to ensure that the country’s hydrocarbon resources are managed effectively and contribute positively to the nation. During the conference, PA focused on two offshore blocks available for licensing: Block A (1,728 square kilometers) and Block D (2,294 square kilometers). These areas are located near existing oil and gas operations, making them attractive for potential investors.
The licensing round is open for expressions of interest until April 30, 2025, marking Brunei’s first such initiative in over ten years. By promoting these opportunities, PA aims to encourage new investments in Brunei’s oil and gas sector, helping to boost economic growth and create jobs.
