As a prudent regulator to the oil and gas industry, it is Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam’s (PA) mission to ensure all operators adhere to the rules and regulations set by the government agencies.
A total of 9 personnel (4 from PA, 2 from AENBD, 2 from SHENA and 1 from DARe) attended this joint monitoring program that happened on Monday, 20th May 2024.
The objectives of this monitoring program are as follows:
- To discuss amongst all the relevant Government departments and authorities involved to agree on the roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor Hengyi compliance with relation to the relevant laws, regulations and conditions set out by the relevant Government agencies related to the protection of health, safety and preservation of the environment in which Hengyi Phase I operates.
Hengyi’s Phase 1 facilities have been in operations since Q4 2019. In order to ensure a collectively approach towards the effective management on matters related to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), it is imperative that relevant Government departments and authorities share the roles & responsibilities based on an agree scope and action plan for the Joint HSE Monitoring Program.
