As part of its commitment towards the health of its staff, Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam’s (PA) organised a Cancer Awareness Talk in collaboration with Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) on 16 May 2023. The talk was held at Theatre Hall, Prime Minister’s Office building.
The talk which was attended by more than 30 staff highlighted the types of cancer that often occur among men and women, its symptoms and ways to perform self-examination for women.
The event started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah followed with a welcoming remark by Pengiran Adi Johan bin Pengiran Haji Annuar, Head of HSSE.
Dr Raden Mas Jeffri Bin Raden Mas Ismail, Consultant Medical Oncologist, delivered the talk titled “Common Male Cancers in Brunei Darussalam”. Meanwhile, Datin Dr Hjh Noraslinah binti Hj Ramlee, Consultant and Head of Early Detection and Cancer Prevention (EDCP) Services, delivered the talk titled “Common Female Cancers in Brunei Darussalam”.
The talk ended with a Q&A session. PJSC also prepared an exhibition on Cancer Awareness.
